Some Basics Tips to Increase your Adsense Revenue

google adsense make money

If you have been posting AdSense ads on your site for quite some time and feel that you are not making as much money as you could, in most cases you are probably right.
Most people are frustrated by not being able to generate the revenue they expected, and this comes down to traffic levels, as well as click-through rates.

4 Methods To Turn Traffic Into Adsense Traffic

The first thing you should do is adjust the content of your site. While for some people this is not an option (if you are running a forum, for example, it is much more difficult), most people can turn their AdSense sites into real cash-cows.

1.
To begin with, you must work out what the main keywords of your site are. This is a basic technique in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) known as keyword density verification. Then you should take this keyword list and search the Overture search inventory or the Google AdWords test site to find out what other words might be better than what you currently have.

2. Ok, so from now on, try to keep your site focused on the things that appear mainly in the keyword suggestions you receive. Try to include those keywords, or at least some keywords related to the content of your site. But, make sure you don't over-do-it; too many repetitive and congested keywords can actually end up having a negative effect on your site.

3. Because of the way Google AdSense works, this is a sure way to increase your revenue because you'll get better and more topical-related ads in your AdSense ad-spaces, similar to how you would get a better Google PageRank.

4. It is also important that you continually add new pages to your site. This is very important, since the more pages you have, the greater the chance that you will get more visits to your ads. And, you can never have enough fresh content for search engines to eat up.

Adsense Recommended Ad Formats

It is also very important that you choose the appropriate formats for your AdSense banners and the best locations for them. While this is a much broader subject, in general, you should know that the three main formats of Google AdSense are: '336 × 280 large rectangle', '300 × 250 medium rectangle' and '160 × 600 skyscrapers'.

Be sure to choose the right colours for the ads, because by making them very different from the content of your site (or simply in an incorrect way), visitors will see them as banners that have nothing to do with the site itself.
The main idea is to make your ads blend into your site design so people interpret it as part of your site and not as some spammy-looking advertisement.

Make sure these ads are located where they will generate the most profits. Most of the time, you will probably find that the most ideal locations are just before the start of the actual content of your site (possibly blending in with the 'title' and/or 'article description' etc.).
On pages with a lot of text or big articles; you may find "skyscrapers" better, simply because users will be exposed to them for a longer period of time.
In addition, for sites with news or similar elements, a very effective position for Adsense ads is at the bottom of your content, because it is when people finish reading your article and look for something else to read.

You should use more AdSense units if you have a lot of text on your page. Just make sure you do not over-do it, since you might discover that you will get a much lower CTR and less revenue than you would have gotten in the first place.
There is a Google AdSense preview tool that will allow you to see which ads will be published on your page, and it can be very useful as a test mechanism.

Just make sure you adhere to the AdSense policy regarding click fraud. As a pointer, you can place an image next to your ads, but be sure to leave some space between them to make sure that this is not considered to encourage visitors to click on the link.
Of course, there are more ways to increase AdSense traffic to your site, but these tips should serve as a good starting point to maximize your revenue.
